A local entrepreneur is sticking with North Tyneside Council as the base for his growing vinyl wall sticker business as it expands to Europe.
Andrew Hanes, company owner at Apex Stickers, believes that building strong, local businesses with export potential is the key to overcome current political uncertainty.
Started from his bedroom 6 years ago, Apex Stickers has grown to achieve more than 14,000 positive customer reviews and become one of eBay's top-selling vinyl wall art providers. Andrew believes his growth really began to take off when he approached North Tyneside Council looking for some affordable business premises to move into.
From his workshop based in Salisbury House, Wallsend, he sells and cuts his premium quality custom vinyl wall art to homeowners, schools, teachers and clubs across the country. He even serves regular commercial customers in Ireland and Europe and wants to expand this further.
Despite his company's growth, he has no intention to relocate from North Tyneside or Salisbury House. When asked why, Andrew said "Salisbury House has excellent infrastructure for me. It has good facilities in a location that makes it easy for me to access high-speed internet for my online store, and good postal services too."
Apex Stickers currently ships out almost two thousand stickers each month from their website www.apexstickers.co.uk and online marketplaces eBay and Amazon. Andrew expects the business to double in sales this year. He believes the growth will make it possible to employ new staff and add more equipment to his business.
